Team Alabama Wants YOU to Join the 2024 Transplant Games in Birmingham

If you haven’t already heard, the Transplant Life Foundation recently announced that Birmingham will host the 2024 Transplant Games of America. The Games, which will take place July 5-10, 2024, is a national, festival-style, multi-sport event that will bring together nearly 10,000 members of the transplant community.

Driving our Mission

Chances are if you’ve chosen to become a registered organ donor, you did so when getting or renewing your driver’s license at your local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office. In fact, 98 percent of individuals across the country register their donation decision through their local DMV.

Putting a Face – Or Car Wrapping – to the Organ Donation Cause

Jared Tyler likes standing out. And as a two-time heart recipient, he knows that his story has the potential to attract attention and further the cause of organ donation. “I like being different. And if I can stand out and send a message that hopefully inspires more people to sign up as registered organ donors, that would be incredible,” he said.

Legacy of Hope Sets New Organizational Record in 2022

Legacy of Hope is proud to share the news, we saved more lives through organ donation in 2022 than ever before! We coordinated 292 organ donors resulting in 714 organs transplanted. We also healed more lives through tissue donation with 553 tissue donors.

Window Clings Serve as a Memorial to Donors

Legacy of Hope recently installed new window clings on our office at 516 20th Street South in Birmingham. The clings serve as a memorial to our 2021 donors and an expression of gratitude to their families.
