Story from the Quilt:
Our beautiful daughter Kinsey unexpectedly entered this world nine days early, and just as unexpectedly left this world far too soon. However, during her short 6 years of life, she filled our home with such love, fun and laughter.

Kinsey was naturally great at anything she put her mind to. From ballet and gymnastics to playing sports to school, she excelled in everything. She was also known to be quite the trickster. You really never knew what she might do. She always had a smile on her face and had a laugh that was contagious.

Kinsey had an amazing love of the outdoors and animals. It was because of her love of helping animals that we decided to donate her organs. We felt that this would be something that she would have wanted, to help other people. In fact, she gave the gift of life to eleven people.

Her quilt square represents some of her favorite things. Her name is actually her handwriting. We surrounded it with butterflies and a ladybug to represent her fascination with bugs. Her favorite colors were purple and pink. The two pictures are of her first ballet recital and her first day of school in the first grade. The elephant with the football shows her love of Alabama football. And to finish it off, we included a softball hat and glove for the two years she played.

Though Kinsey’s life was short, she lived it fully, having experienced adventures that some adults will never see. She loved life, loved her friends and, most of all, loved her family.
