Story from the Quilt:
Fish- symbolizes Joel’s love of fishing, both fresh and saltwater.

Deer- helps us to remember the experiences he had hunting and camping with no electricity or running water- truly “roughing it.”

L.S.U.- Although Joel is from Alabama, he developed a true love of Louisiana culture from his step-father and his family. And yes, much to the dismay of my Alabama/Auburn split brothers, he had all the angels in heaven cheering LSU on to the SEC Championship in 2007.

It is absolutely amazing that the unexpected loss of one could remove the fear of death for many and heighten the excitement of life everlasting.
