Story from the Quilt:
Jeanette was a pediatric LVN nurse and although she didn’t have children of her own, she would invite friends and family and their children into her home to swim in her pool and to enjoy recreational activities. The pineapple symbol on the quilt piece represents her many open invitations and hospitalities of her home.
Jeanette was very creative and loved crocheting, sewing, and knitting. She was an avid collector of hummingbird objects, blue glassware (blue was her favorite color), old coins, and decorated her home with antiques and various ‘treasures’she would find at the flea markets, garage and estate sales.
Her faithful and constant companion was her dog, Bandit, as well as various pets she adopted from friends and family.
She was a loving and generous person whose last dying wish is that her body be donated to science and research for the specific study of Cushing’s disease. Jeanette was not a stranger to physical pain and suffering and wanted her last contribution to humanity—the gift of her body, to help others have a healthy and prolonged life.
We love you, Jeanette
