Congratulations to Colonel Jonathan Archer, a longtime Legacy of Hope driver licensing partner, for winning the Lifesaver Award from Donate Life America. The Lifesaver Award recognizes a DMV or driver licensing partner (DLP) staff member who demonstrates exceptional commitment to the DMV/DLP’s role as a partner in saving lives through support of the Donate Life mission. “Colonel Archer has demonstrated his commitment to a successful donor registry program through his ongoing collaboration with Legacy of Hope,” states Ann Rayburn, Director of Education for Legacy of Hope. “I am honored to be recognized with the 2023 Donate Life America Lifesaver Award,” he said. “The ALEA [Alabama Law Enforcement Agency] Driver License Division has been instrumental in facilitating the important work of improving the accuracy of the donor registry, ensuring that individuals’ wishes regarding organ donation are appropriately recorded during their driver license transactions. ALEA commends Legacy of Hope’s dedication and commitment to saving lives through our ongoing collaboration. Together, we can make a lasting impact and give hope to those in need of life-saving organ transplants.” Given over 99 percent of all donor registrations are captured during a license transaction in Alabama, we couldn’t facilitate our mission without our driver licensing partners. And with Col. Archer at the helm, we are confident that donor registration in our great state will continue to grow!
